Maritime ports have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no. 03 (Three) as depression over Northwest Bay and adjoining West-central Bay weakened into a well-marked low over Northwest Bay and adjoining West Bengal-Bangladesh coast, a special Met office bulletin said on Monday.
It will move further in a north-notheasterly direction and weaken into a low by evening today (Monday), according to the Met office bulletin.
Under the influence of the well-marked low, deep convection is continuing over North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, it said.
Steep pressure gradient persists over North Bay.
Rains/thunder showers with temporary gusty/ squally wind speed of 40-50 kph are likely to occur in the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, the bulletin said.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to remain in shelter till further notice, it added.
