A court in Dhaka on Thursday sentenced two people to death and two others to life term imprisonment for killing two young men in 2010.
The condemned convicts are - Md Kaiser Mollah and Farhad Gazi alias Farhad of Uttar Khan area. Reports say the convicts are on the run.
The lifers - Md Suruj Miah and Suporna were fined Tk 20,000 each, in default, to suffer one year more imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, Farhad planned to kill Md Sabuj, 22, following previous enmity over a love affair.
As per his plan, Farhad and the other accused called Sabuj went to meet Suporna at Bhadul area in Pubail to watch shooting on August 20, 2010.
When Sabuj along with his friend Jakiur Rahman Jewel went to the spot on the day the accused slaughtered them and dumped their bodies in a bush there.
Later, Jewel's elder brother filed a case with Uttar Khan Police Station on September 9, 2010.
Later, police arrested two of the accused and as per their statements, police then recovered the skeletons of the two young men from Bhadul area on September 10, 2010, said an UNB report.
DB Sub inspector Md Hafizur Rahman, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted a charge-sheet against the four people on June 3, 2011.
After examining the records and witnesses, Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 judge Abdur Rahman Sarder handed down the verdict.
