Seven people were awarded death sentences in Habiganj in a case filed over killing a farmer almost ten years ago.
The Additional District and Sessions Judge’s Court awarded the verdict on Wednesday.
According to case details, farmer Abul Mia was hacked to death on Jun 22, 2008 in his village in Nabiganj Upazila following a land dispute.
The 55-year-old victim’s brother started a murder case the same day against eight people. Police pressed charges against seven of them.
The court convicted all defendants: Martuz Ali, his sons Faysal, Sazlu and Mainul, daughter Shifa Begum, brother Basir and Sundar Mia, says bdnews24.
