Police arrested five suspected robbers for looting valuables from 11 shops at a market in Bagatipara upaizla of Natore.
The arrestees are Abdur Rahman, Shahjahan, Selim, Naser and Shaheen Alam.
Superintendent of Police Liton Kumar Saha in a press briefing on Monday said the robbers tied up three night guards of the market and threw them into Baral river before committing robbery.
Four teams of police conducted a drive and arrested the five robbers, reports UNB.
The truck used for the robbery was recovered from Naogaon.
The operation to arrest the other robbers is continuing, police said.
