Police in a drive arrested a counselor of the municipality and a woman along with heroin worth Tk 11 lakh from Chakpara area of Netrakona town on Monday.
The arrestees were Shafikul Islam Khan Khokon, counselor of ward No. 3 and his aide Laboni (35), reports UNB.
Amir Taimur Ali, the Officer-in-Charge of Netrakona Model Police Station said, on secret information, police conducted a drive at Harijan Polli in the town and arrested the duo along with 110 grams of heroin and 11 pieces of Yaba tablets.
A case was filed and the arrestees were sent to the court, OC added.
