A man, who was arrested for killing his fellow gang member, died in an alleged shootout with police in the capital’s Hatirjheel area on Sunday.
Police arrested Nurul Islam with a gun in his possession on Saturday while he was fleeing after killing his gang member -- Badshah, according to OC of Badda Police Station Quazi Wazed Ali, reports bdnews24.com.
Sources said, police took along Nurul at 2:30am on Sunday to raid Badda’s Satarkul to nab his accomplices. “Nurul was wounded by a bullet as a gunfight erupted between the DB police and his men,” said the OC.
Nurul was declared dead after being taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said OC Ali. Nurul and Badshah belonged to the same terror gang.
Nurul shot and killed Badshah over infighting and was named in multiple criminal cases, he added.
