An auto-rickshaw driver was killed reportedly by muggers in Meghdubi area of Gazipur on early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Rasel Chowkider, 25, son of late Md Ratan Chowkider, a resident of Haydrabad area.
Md Jahangir Alam, inspector (operation) of Gazipur Sadar Police Station, said locals spotted the body near a road in the morning and informed police, UNB reported.
Later, police recovered the body, said the inspector.
He might have been strangulated to death by muggers who had snatched his vehicle, said the police official adding that the victim’s hands and legs were tied up with rope.
