A man was slaughtered by miscreants in Shishubagan para of Meherpur district town on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Razzak, son of freedom fighter Omar Ali, a news agency reported.
Sima Khatun, victim’s wife, said that a gang of miscreants attacked Razzak at night while he was returning home after releasing two men, who were held with hemp on Saturday, from the jail.
The miscreants hacked and slaughtered him to death.
Locals said that Razzak worked as an agent of passport office and police source. He was also an activist of local Jubo League.
Razzak might have been killed over previous enmity, said Rabiul Islam, the Officer-in-Charge of Meherpur Police Station.
