A tribunal in Chuadanga on Tuesday convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing his wife over dowry in 2011.
The convict is Mamun Ali, son of Akubbar Ali of Sadabari vilalge in Damurhuda upazila.
According to the prosecution, Mamun killed his wife Sagori Khatun following an altercation as she failed to bring dowry from his father's house on February 5, 2011.
Rahim Box, father of the victim, filed a case with Damurhuda police station.
After examining the records and witnesses Chuadanga Woman and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Mohammad Zia Haider handed down the verdict, reports UNB.
