Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a special anti-drug drive arrested 26 people from different areas of Dhaka city for selling and consuming illegal drugs.
A special team of DMP, comprising Detective Branch (DB) of police and other law officials, launched the drive in different places of the capital and recovered 228 pieces of yaba tablets, 342 grams of heroin, 410 gramsof cannabis and 198 bottles of phensedyl syrup, according to a DMP statement issued on Tuesday.
A total of 21 cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the suspects with the relevant police stations in the capital.
The anti-drug operation started at 6:00am on Monday and ended at 6:00am on Tuesday, the statement added.
