Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a special anti-drug drive arrested 22 suspects from different areas of the city for selling and consuming narcotics.
A special team of DMP, comprising Detective Branch (DB) of police and other law officials, launched the drive in various places of the capital and recovered 196 pieces of yaba tablets, 427 grams heroin, and 445 gram cannabis from their possession, according to a DMP statement issued on Friday.
A total of 17 cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
The operation began at 6:00 am on Sunday and ended at 6:00 am on Monday, the statement added.
