The officer-in-charge (OC) of Damurhuda police station was withdrawn to the district police lines on Monday following various allegations including taking bribe from drug traders.
Several allegations were filed against OC Akram Hossain including taking bribe from a listed drug peddler of Darshana promising not to arrest him, said sources at the police station said.
The OC also helped the drug trader to flee away from the area, they alleged.
Following the allegations, Akram was closed to district police lines on Monday night around 11 pm, said Mahbubur Rahman, superintendent of Chuadanga Police, reports UNB.
A three-member committee has been formed to investigate the incident, he added.
