A Joypurhat court on Tuesday ordered a judicial enquiry against the officer-in-charge (OC) of Akkelpur Police Station over an attempted rape case filed against him.
District Children and Women Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Begum Parveen Momtaz passed the order taking cognisance of the complaint, said Public Prosecutor Advocate Nripendranath Mondal.
The court also fixed April 25 for placing the report before it, he added, reports UNB.
According to the case statement, the housewife of Akkelpur municipality filed the case with the court accusing OC Sirajul Islam of attempting to violate her at his office around 10am on Monday when she went there to know the update of a case filed against her earlier.
She also alleged that the police officer had been trying to seduce her providing favour in her case, but she denied those. Later on Monday, the OC tried to violate her forcefully.
Meanwhile, the OC denied the allegation, saying he knows nothing about it.
