Police recovered the body of a lawyer from his residence at Chawkbazar police station in the port city on Saturday morning.
The deceased was Omar Faruk Bappi, 40, son of Ali Ahmed of Ali Kadam upazila of Bandarban district.
“Police rushed in and recovered the body of Faruk with his hands and legs tied up with rope and mouth covered with tape, said Nurul Huda, officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar police station.
Bappi might have been strangled to death over family dispute, said the police official, adding that the man was wanted in a dowry case filed by his wife in January, as per UNB agency.
The deceased also filed two cases against his wife in 2014.
