Police arrested two expatriates from Mazumdari area in Sylhet on Sunday night for torturing their domestic help and her daughter.
The arrestees were identified as United Kingdom expatriates Kabir Ahmed Khokon (42) and Shakir Ahmed Munna (43), sons of Abdul Nur of the area.
The duo tide their domestic help Parvin Begum with a tree as well as her daughter, a class seven student, with an electric pole around 10pm for allegedly stealing gold jewellery, said Mosharraf Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Airport Police Station.
Being informed by locals, police rescued the victims and sent them to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment, reports UNB.
Later, police arrested Kabir and Shakir after victim Parvin filed a case with the police station, the OC added.
