Police detained a member of Detective Branch (DB) of police along with 1,000 pieces of Yaba tablets.
Police detained him from Moizzartek area in the port city on Tuesday evening.
The detainee is Anwar Hossian, 35, an assistant sub-inspector of district Detective Branch of police,
Based on secret information a team of Chittagong Metropolitan DB police conducted a drive here and detained Anwar along with a private car, said Karnaphuli Police Station officer-in-charge Sayedul Mostafa
Later, DB police seized 1,000 pieces of contraband tablets from his possession and handed him over to the police station, says a UNB report.
A case was filed.
