A man was killed in a clash between two groups of villagers at Par Mallikpur village in Lohagara upazila of Narail district on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Khayer Mrida, 40, reports UNB.
Police said that supporters of Jalil Mrida attacked the supporters of Salam Thakur at Mallikpur intersection in the morning over previous enmity, triggering a clash between the two groups.
The clash left at least five people, including Khayer, injured.
Later, Khayer succumbed to his injuries on the way to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
On information, police rushed in and fired 20 round bullets to bring the situation under control.
Five people sustained bullet wound in police firing.
