The headmaster of a local Government Primary School was found dead at Dumuria village in Adamdighi upazila on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Abdur Rashid, 50, headmaster of Dumuria Govt Primary School and a resident of the village.
Local people found the body of Abdur Rashid one kilometre away from his residence around 8:00am and informed police.
On Information, police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue, according to a UNB report.
Police said the body bore several stabbing marks.
Quoting his family members, police said Abdur Rashid came out of his house around 10:00pm to feed his fish at a pond and he remained missing since then.
Zahiduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Adamdhighi Police Station, said police arrested a couple-Abdur Razzak, 35 and his wife Mahfuza Begum, 28-for their suspected link to the killing.
Police suspected that Abdur Rashid might have been killed over illicit relationship with Mahfuza, said the OC.
