A youth was stabbed to death in the city's Dakkhin Banasree on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Jakir.
Rahima, a local resident of Dakhin Banasree, briefed that she saw a gathering near 'Chartola Office' area when she was returning home around 8:30 pm. "I saw a number of people were surrounding a youth, who was lying in a pool of blood. An ambulance was seen parked there but it refused to carry him because no one was agreeing to pay for it."
Rahima then requested the driver of the ambulance to carry the seriously injured youth to hospital upon her expense.
When Jakir was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the on-duty doctor declared him dead at around 9:35 pm, said SI Bachchu Mia of DMCH police outpost.
SI Bachchu also said there were stab wounds found on Jakir's chest, reports UNB.
