In separate anti-crime drives, members of police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 30 suspects on various charges from different areas of the district in last 12-hour ending at 8 am this morning, officials concerned in Dhaka said on Tuesday.
Law enforcers also recovered 136 bottles of Phensidyl during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
During the drives, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 10 suspected criminals from Dinajpur Sadar upazila on Tuesday night, Birampur Thana police arrested three persons, Phulbari Thana police arrested one person, Bochaganj Thana police arrested two persons, Birganj Thana police arrested four persons, Nawabganj Thana police arrested two persons, Chirirbandar Thana police arrested three persons, Khansama Thana police arrested two persons, Biral Thana police arrested one person and Kaharole Thana police arrested two persons.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrestees, the sources added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained two drug traders with 136 bottles of Phensidyl around 6 am from Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police, BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail, reports BSS.
