Vegetable cultivation has brought smiles on the faces of hundreds marginal peasants in Natore district in this season.
According to Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), the farmers have already brought some 5261hectares of land under the winter vegetable cultivation with a view to becoming financially solvent.
The farmers have started harvesting the crops in winter season in the district. They are making a good profit as the prices of the crops are higher than previous year.
Deputy Director (DD) of DAE Rafiqul Islam said the farmers are mostly dependent on agriculture round the year as they can make good profit by producing different sorts of vegetable.
“We have given all sort of agri-based instrument among the farmers”, he added.
