Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two people along with 200kg hemp on Dhaka-Sylhet highway near Khatihata in Sarail upazila on Sunday morning.
The arrestees are identified as Ishak Mia, 28, son of Mannan Mia and Jewel, 26, son of Shiraj Mia of Chunarughat in Habiganj.
Acting on a tip- off, a team of Rab-14 conducted a drive and intercepted a pickup van that was carrying the hemp worth Tk 3.5 million, said UNB quoting Major Sheikh Nazmul Arefin Parag, company commander of RAB -14, CPC -3.
A case was filed with Sarail Police Station in this connection, he added.
