Another person,who was badly injured in a road accident at Sadar upazila of Gopalganj died on Saturday morning.
The death toll raised from the incident to eight.
The accident took place on Friday night when a bus hit a truck in Betgram area on Dhaka-Khulna Highway
The deceased was identified as Khan Nur Islam, son of Khan Abdul Hakim, a resident of Dashani area in the district town of Bagerhat, said Pankaj Chandra Roy, Bagerhat police super.
Khan was also joint general secretary of Bagerhat municipality unit of Awami League, as per UNB report.
Seven people were killed and 20 others, including Nur, were injured in the road crash took place around 8:00 pm when a Pirojpur-bound 'Dola Paribahan' bus hit a truck, fully loaded with trunks, from the backside.
Nur was undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital.
