Five policemen of Sadar Police Station were closed to Chuadanga Police Lines last night in connection with negligence of duty over an incident of theft at Samabay Market in the district town.
Nizam Uddin, superintendent of district police, made the order in this regard, reports UNB.
The closed policemen are sub-inspector Akram Hossain, constables Nabirul Islam, Sajidur Rahman, Jasim Uddin and Rezaul Hossain, the agency reported.
The SP also gave three-day ultimatum to officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Tozammel Haque, inspector (investigation) Golam Mohammad, and inspector (operation) Ameer Abbas to recover the stolen valuables and arrest the persons involved.
Otherwise, legal action must be taken against them, the SP warned.
Breaking locks of some shops in the market, in front of deputy commissioner's office, the thieves stole a computer monitor and some cash money on Friday night.
