At least 25 houses were gutted in a fire at a workers' colony in the city's Bhogra area on Wednesday morning.
Jakir Hossain, senior station officer of Gazipur Fire Service and Civil Defense Station, said the fire broke out at the tin-shed workers' colony around 9:15 am and soon engulfed the adjacent houses.
On information, two fire fighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after one hour of frantic efforts.
The cause of blaze could not be known immediately, the official said, adding that no casualties were reported in the fire.
The estimated losses caused by the fire could not be ascertained immediately, says a unb report.
