Almost the entire country may witness dry weather during the holy Eid-ul-Fitr although monsoon has already set in, an official of Met Office said on Wednesday.
“Rainfall is likely to occur in some parts of the country….. but dry weather may prevail largely over most areas of the country during Eid day,” he added.
Some parts of Dhaka, Sylhet, Barishal, Chattogram may witness light to moderate rain while dry weather is likely to dominate over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions.
According to a long range weather forecast of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), normal rainfall may occur in the Month of June and one or two monsoon low pressures are likely to form in the Bay of Bengal.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisting local cautionary signal number three as the deep convection is continuing over North Bay and adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh, a weather bulletin of BMD said on Wednesday.
Monsoon is strong over North Bay, it said and adding, squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of the country, reports BSS.
