Dhaka-Chittagong railway communications have been halted as a DEMU train collided with a truck at Panusua in Comilla Sadar upazila.
The accident took place around 9:30am on Saturday when the sand-laden truck hit the train at an unauthorised level-crossing, said Shafiqur Rahman, the station master of Comilla Railway Station.
The wheels of the train veered off the rail tracks, he said, adding that, meanwhile, a Dhaka-bound train, 'Subarna Express', got stranded at the same station, reports UNB.
A relief train from Akhaura was on its way to the spot to pull the DEMU train on to the rail tracks, the station master added.
