Speakers at a discussion on Thursday called for sufficient allocation of budget and its proper implementation to help curb violence against children and their overall development.
They also advocated for improving coordination among the government ministries, local government bodies, and non-government organisations for proper implementation of child budget.
Their observation came at the discussion titled “Study findings of government budget focusing violence against children” at the national press club in the capital.
Dr M Abu Eusuf, Chairman of Development Studies of Dhaka University presented a key note paper while Md Kazi Reazul Hoque, Chairman of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) joined the discussion as chief guest.
Chandan Z Gomes, Director (strategic, programme, support and advisory services) of World Vision, Bangladesh chaired the function.
