The Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will begin selling tickets from Tuesday for the special Eid service from Dhaka, Gazipur and Narayanganj to various parts of Bangladesh.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader made the announcement after a meeting with workers from the public transport agency on Monday afternoon, reports UNB.
The ‘Eid Special Service’ tickets will be sold for June 13 and the buses will run until the day before Eid.
“A total of 475 buses from six depots in the Dhaka metropolitan area and eight depots in Gazipur and Narayanganj will travel to various parts of the country every day. And 54 buses will remain on standby in the Dhaka metropolitan area.”
Three hundred and seventy-five other inter-district buses from 11 depots across the country will also be operating, he said.
Quader added that BRTC buses for factory workers bound for North Bengal will leave the depots from the Dhaka metropolitan area, Gazipur and Narayanganj two days ahead of Eid.
