The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) on Monday launched drives against unfit and faulty vehicles in different parts of capital Dhaka.
Shawkat Ali, secretary of BRTA, said the drive began at Manik Mia Avenue around 9:00am.
The drives are being conducted against unfit vehicles and also to raise awareness among city dwellers about road safety, news agency UNB reported citing the official.
Unfit vehicles were being fined by the mobile courts in the presence of BRTA officials, he added.
