Bangladesh has arranged release of two Myanmar journalists-- U Min Zayar Oo and U Hkun Lat.
They were arrested in Cox's Bazar on September 7 on various charges including violation of immigration law and suspected involvement in espionage, said a press release of Bangladesh Embassy in Yangon on Saturday.
They had obtained tourist visas by hiding their identities, the release said, adding Bangladesh allowed almost all journalists, who expressed interest, to visit Bangladesh in the last few weeks and issued appropriate category of visas in favour of them.
Unfortunately, these two journalists did not apply for right category of visa, rather hide their real purpose, it said.
Bangladesh authorities have taken into consideration their antecedents, request from international media houses and plea from their family members while applying this flexibility, it said, according to BSS.
