The Chittagong University campus remains idle on the second day on Tuesday due to the indefinite strike enforced by Bangladesh Chhatra League.

The teachers' bus services have also been forced to shut off as part of their indefinite blockade.

Blockaders called for indefinite blockade in protest against sending a CU teacher to jail in connection with the BCL leader Diaz murder case.

However, when a train from Batali reached Jhautola station around 7 am, demonstrators blocked the railway tracks.

According to the transport office sources, the protesters locked the main gate of the university at around 4 am.

University Transport Department Administration Professor Dr Shafiul Azam said no teachers' buses left the university due to the blockade, as per UNB report.

Sholashahar Station Master Shahab Uddin said the blockaders halted a train at Jhautola around 7:30 am in the morning. Besides, the train, scheduled to leave at 8, did not leave from the Battaloli.

The assistant proctor of Chittagong University, Anwar Hossain, was sent to jail after he surrendered before a Chittagong court on Monday in the murder case of Bangladesh Chhatra League central leader Diaz Irfan Chowdhury.

On November 20, 2016, the body of Diaz, central assistant secretary of the BCL, was found hanging from the ceiling of his room near CU.
