Bangladesh has experienced the coldest ever temperature in the extreme northern district of Panchagarh.
It recorded 2.6 degree Celsius at Tentulia upazila on Monday morning, local television channels reported.
Meanwhile, in Nilphamari, just on the eastern side of Panchagarh, the temperature was registered at 3 degree Celsius.
Poor people, including children and elderly people, are suffering the worst. Many of them have been attacked with cold-related diseases. The cold wave also limited outdoor activities to basic necessities.
The country, or erstwhile East Pakistan, recorded its previous record low temperature at 2.8 degrees Celsius in 1968.
