Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said she firmly believes that the army will stand by the people and help the government manage state affairs when necessary.
“Whenever the current government will have the need of help, the military will stand by the people,” she said on Sunday.
Sheikh Hasina was addressing a programme at Dhaka Cantonment marking the inauguration of 27 big and small development projects in various cantonments across the country, including Dhaka.
The Prime Minister also asked the army to always remain alert to face any sort of threat from internal of external sources for protecting the country’s sacred constitution and its sovereignty.
“You must remain alert all the time to face any kind of threat unitedly from home or abroad for safeguarding the country’s sacred constitution and sovereignty,” she said.
Earlier, Sheikh Hasina digitally inaugurated the development projects.
On arrival at the venue, Prime Minister's Security Affairs Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique and Chief of Staff of Bangladesh Army General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq received her.
