The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday issued a notice to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mizanur Rahman and his wife Sohelia Anar Ratna asking to submit their wealth statement within seven days.
A notice seeking their wealth statement was sent to them on Wednesday, said Deputy Director of ACC Hrithik Saha.
Earlier on May 3, the ACC interrogated the DIG in connection with alleged accumulation of wealth illegally as the anti-graft body found his huge cash, apartments, cars and property, and fixed deposit accounts with multiple banks, reports UNB.
The commission also found his involvement in money laundering.
In January, Mizanur Rahman was withdrawn from the DMP headquarters and attached to the police headquarters following allegation of marrying a woman forcefully and torturing her.
Mizan allegedly picked up Morium Akter and forcefully married her. Later following a family feud Mizanur instigated arrest of Morium in a false case.
