The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday had three WASA inspectors transferred for misusing power and tampering with water bills.
The ACC conducted a drive at the WASA’s Fakirapul office in the capital after receiving multiple complaints from consumers at their hotline.
ACC Assistant Director Md Masudur Rahman conducted the drive with Sub-Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya and some members of ACC’s police unit.
The three transferred officials are: Golam Rbbani, Shah Miran Bhuyan and Shafiqul Islam.
After the drive, ACC opened a customer complaint booth to ensure transparency and accountability in the WASA office.
They also unearthed huge arrears of different organisations, including those of Ad-din Hospital with Tk 50 million and Bangladesh Cooperative Society with Tk 3.3 million, respectively, during the drive.
ACC officials said such drives will continue to check corruption.
