More than 54 per cent women living in urban areas face violence in the country, revealed a study by ActionAid on Thursday.
The research titled ‘Whose City?’ that launched globally as part of 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence Campaign.
Of the total respondents, 65 per cent alleged that police blamed the victims instead of the accused while 57 per cent think that law enforcers will not lodge their complaints seriously.
The study was carried out on 1200 Bangladeshi women living in the seven divisional cities of the country.
