Youths test agro based supply chain skills

With the aim to reshape the future, on July 25 East West University Agro Industrialisation Club organised the grand finale of the inter-university competition named 'Supply Chain Challenge 2.0 powered by PFEC Global'.

This competition started off with an inauguration ceremony and workshop on July 02 as part of the first round. This year the competition was arranged for the second time, and 252 teams from 31 public and private universities of Bangladesh participated in the competition. Among top 20 teams from the second round, eight teams were qualified for the final round. Before the final round, East West University Agro Industrialisation Club arranged a special workshop for finalist on July 21, says a press release.

On the award giving ceremony, the chief guest of the programme was Mohammad Nazmul Islam, additional secretary, Ministry of Agriculture. The programme chair was Professor Dr. Fakrul Alam, pro-vice chancellor of East West University.

Naquib Khan, corporate affairs director of Nestle Bangladesh and president of Bangladesh Supply Chain Management Society and Md Mahboob Ahmed, director general, Department of Agricultural Marketing (DAM) were the special guests of the programme.

'Team Blitzkrieg' from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka became the champion of Supply Chain Competition. 'Team Roommates' from Bangladesh University of Professionals and 'Team No Surprises' from  the IBA of  University of Dhaka took the position of  first runner-up and second runner-up. The champion's team was awarded Tk  30,000, and the next two team also received Tk 20,000 and Tk 10,000 as prize money respectively.
