UCEP Bangladesh on Friday organised a grand reception to celebrate the outstanding achievements of UCEP Hafiz Majumder Sylhet Technical School students in the SSC vocational exam under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen was present at the programme as the chief guest, says a media release.
Dr. Ubaidur Rob, former chairperson of UCEP Bangladesh, M Kazi Emdadul Islam, deputy commissioner, Sylhet, Paritosh Ghosh, additional police commissioner of Sylhet, and Major General Hamidul Haque, GOC, Sylhet Cantonment joined the function as special guests.
Parveen Mahmud FCA, the chairperson of the executive director of the non-profit and non-governmental organisation, presided over the programme.
Md. Abdul Karim, executive director of the organisation and former principal secretary to the prime minister, hosted the event.
Speaking as the chief guest, the foreign minister has given a special emphasis on technical education. He assured that the government would extend all possible assistance to UCEP Bangladesh to take their technical education programme forward.
Md. Abdul Karim congratulated the students and advised them to be good human besides their education.
Ms. Parveen Mahmud FCA said that the organisation has been working tirelessly to provide technical education to the underprivileged and disadvantaged children of the country for almost 50 years.
She expressed hope that the government would stand by UCEP in their effort to mobilise the youth through education and skills development.
