Students of Scholastica School, Dhaka have won a study trip to an Australian University.
Students of Scholastica School, Dhaka have been announced as the winners of the "Film Fly Experience Australia", a video competition for school students, organised by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission.
The second edition of the competition attracted participation from students of grades 9 to 11 from schools across Bangladesh.
The participating students developed short films on the theme of "Cyber Security and modern day threats" and the video developed by the Scholastica School was chosen as the winning video amongst the videos developed by all the participating schools in the competition.
Students along with teachers from the winning school will travel to Australia to participate in an all-expense paid student experience at Macquarie University in May 2018.
The study trip includes return economy ticket flights from Bangladesh to Australia for two students and an accompanying teaching staff member, accommodation, and other travel and living expenses in Australia during the visit.
The Film Fly Experience Australia schools video competition was sponsored by Macquarie University, RMIT University, Southern Cross University, The University of Queensland, University of South Australia, Qantas, Allianz Global Assistance and Iglu.
Sally-Anne Vincent, Acting Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh handed over the winning certificates to the students of Scholastica School.
Speaking about the competition, Peter Coleman, Trade Commissioner, Australian Trade and Investment Commission said, "The Australian Trade and Investment Commission is delighted to support this competition.
This competition has exposed the students from Bangladesh to new study options to consider, particularly in fields that link to careers of the future. We look forward to having the winners in Australia soon."
Australia is amongst the top three international education destination for Bangladeshi undergraduate and post-graduate students with over 6000 Bangladeshi students currently studying in Australia, said the High Commission on Wednesday, reports UNB.
