Protest in IU rolls on to seventh day

The students of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia continued their protest for the seventh consecutive day demanding the reduction of admission fees under academic session2017-18.
Witnesses said around one hundred students of different departments demonstrated in front of the university's administration building and staged a sit-in programme to meet their demand around 12:00am.
Earlier, the protesting students submitted a six-point charter to the university Vice-Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari in this regard, reports UNB.
The agitating students alleged that the university authorities had been increasing the admission fees every year on account of development of its various sectors which was completely illogical.
Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari said that they had hiked the admission fees to adjust with other public universities.
