With the motoo ‘For Aspiring Technopreneurs and Innovators’, a programme on "Startup Chattogram Incubation Ceremony" was organised in the port city of Chattogram for tech entrepreneurs and inventors on Saturday.
Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, deputy minister for education, was present as the chief guest in the programme, while project director (additional secretary) of the iDEA Project Syed Mojibul Huq was present as the special guest.
The iDEA project's Senior Consultant R. H. M. Alaol Kabir and directors of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Chittagong Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CWCCI) also participated in the programme.
Barrister Chowdhoury said that the youth ought to play a leading role in the development of Chattogram.
“In order to build the ‘Digital Bangladesh’ which is prime minister's dream, we need to give special attention to innovation and productivity and called upon the youth to come forward to build a knowledge-based economy”, he said.
Mr Syed Mojibul Huq, welcomed the initiative of Startup Chattogram and inspired all startups to become successful entrepreneurs by developing their skills by taking appropriate training.
"Startup Chattogram Incubation” is first-ever a 50-day long one-stop programme, where selected start-ups will get intensive sessions on all business-related aspects like - Storytelling and Pitch Deck, Networking, Finance, Sales & Distribution, Business Operations, Marketing & Branding, HR Management, Legal Advice, Technology, Business Models etc.
These will go a long way in enhancing the knowledge and skills of start-ups. At the end of this training, startups will be able to apply for a pre-seed grant of Tk 1.0 million under iDEA Project. This time, 20 startups got selected out of 160 startup ideas and individual participants for the Startup Chattogram Incubator program.
Startup Bangladesh, Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) project and Life couch Bangladesh have collaborated as partners in this event.
