The People’s University of Bangladesh (PUB) has got new Vice Chancellor recently.
President Abdul Hamid appointed Dhaka University's Philosophy Department Professor Dr AKM Salauddin as the vice chancellor of the university for four years.
The Chancellor of the university made the appointment as per Section 32 (1) of Private University Act, 2010 after Board of Trustees of the university proposed the name of the veteran educator.
A circular signed by Zinnat Rehana, Deputy Secretary of Private University Division of Education Ministry, was issued on Wednesday, said a press release.
Born in Faridpur on May 15 in 1954, Professor Salauddin passed school life at ‘Children Park High School’ in Lalmonirhat and then Shedeshwari Boys High School in Dhaka. He completed his Secondary in 1969 and Higher Secondary from Dhaka College. He took part in the Liberation War in 1971.
Dr Salauddin completed his Honors Degree at Philosophy Department from Dhaka University and first MA from Germany in 1986. He attained his PhD Degree in 1993. Later, he started his teaching profession at Department of Philosophy in Dhaka University in 195.
Professor Salauddin has written many books and research articles during his profession.
