Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) Business Club has organised 'Bizz Case 2020,' an online business case competition. This is the second edition of this competition and the organisers, the NSTU Business Club hopes to continue it with an aim to promote business ideas and increase skill and creativity among the students.
A total of 33 teams from different departments of NSTU participated in this year's Bizz Case competition. The three-round event began with the first round on November 01, followed by the second and the final round on November 08 and 14 respectively. Survivors of all three rounds participated in the grand finale on November 17. Following a Zoom session hosted by the coordinator of the event Arafat Rahman, the judges announced the name of the winners. 'Team Nash' from the Economics Department was declared the champion. 'The Conquerors' and the 'Trouble Terminator' from the Business Administration Department secured first and second runner-ups.
Leader of the winning team Joy Bhowmik shared his delight of joining the event implying that it was a learning curve. Umma Rumman Dipa from The Conquerors said that money was not the main factor to attend the competition, it was more of a learning experience. She also expressed her gratitude to the organisers for making opportunities for the students to enhance their skill. "It was really a new experience to arrange such a competition online," said the event convener Shameem Taj regarding the event being held online. The organisers also expressed their satisfaction for huge participation and emphasised the necessity of such programmes to keep the students motivated and engaged.
The final round was attended by the University Treasurer and Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration Dr Faruque Uddin as the chief guest. Judge panel consisted of Acting Chairman of the Department of Business Administration Dr SM Mahbubur Rahman, Associate Professor Abdul Kaium Masud and Assistant Professor Subarna Biswas from the same department, and Marketing Executive Mofasser Haider Bhuiyan from Japan Tobacco International. The event was sponsored by Hashnect, an IT firm.
