NATURE Celebration kicks off tomorrow

The 13th National Nature Summit 2022 is not your average single-venue festival, rather it's a celebration that is set to be hosted in all eight divisions of our country as Notre Dame Nature Study Club (NDNSC) sets a new bar for nationwide festivals.
The 13th iteration of the annual fest is set to take place from July 01 to November 20, 2022, with the initative of Notre Dame Nature Study Club in association with the Department of Environment under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The "13th National Nature Summit" will be hosted this year, with the goal of a "Nationwide Awareness Campaign" and the motto of "Voice of Youth on Climate Change" to remember that we might be the last generation that can still reverse climate damage.
Over 8,000 students, teachers, environmentalists, and guardians from across the country are expected to attend this, as we await more than 1,000 presence in each division. The five-month phenomenon is expected to attract eminent guests and speakers, including many of our affiliates, researchers, and current and former students at the college.
NDNSC has always believed that inclusiveness and collective efforts are the way to go, so this fest is open to Primary Level (Class 1-5), Junior Level (Class 6-8), Secondary Level (Class 9-10), and Higher Secondary Level (Class 11-12) categories. The event has solo segments like nature quizzes and art competitions; team-based events, such as project displays, wall magazines, and the green marathon. There will be online events as well like Green Bee, Confab Presentation, Photography contest. Moreover, it will showcase a seminar on "Sound pollution and actions to address the issue" organised by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
The launching programme of the 13th National Nature Summit 2022 and the opening ceremony of the Chattogram Division's Festival is going to be held at St. Placid's School and College, Chattogram, on July 01. Chief guest Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, deputy minister, Ministry of Education, along with Guest of Honour, the first-ever Catholic Christian woman to be in Parliament, Gloria Jharna Sarker, Member of Parliament for Women's Reserved Seat-30 will be there for the ceremony.
The inauguration ceremony will also be attended by special guests: Hillol Biswas, director, Department of Environment, Chittagong Metropolitan Office, and the Principal of St. Placid's School and College, Br Subrata Leo Rozario. Dr Fr Hemanto Pius Rozario, principal of Notre Dame College, Dhaka will chair the ceremony. With regard to what one might expect from this, the Moderator of Notre Dame Nature Study Club, Biplob Kumer Deb said,"Notre Dame Nature Study Club has always been a pioneer, so for the first time in Bangladesh, we are trying to reach the further corners of our country to spread the goals of our club. Our eight-divisional festival is designed to raise nationwide awareness about the country's deteriorating climate conditions and take active actions toward improving them. That's what you can expect."
Being the pioneer of all Eco, Earth, and Nature Clubs in Bangladesh, Notre Dame Nature Study Club was founded back in the year 1984 with the motto of "Love the Beauty of Nature". Engaging both in the national and international arena, today NDNSC is proud to be the one and only national award-winning club in the country, featuring the Bangabandhu Award for Wildlife Conservation in 2014 by the prime minister of Bangladesh.
