Bangladesh Medical Students' Society (BMSS) affiliated Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH) hosted a grand event to observe the World Mental Health Day on 10th October titled ‘Nurturing Minds.’
It consisted of an online awareness campaign in collaboration with Diana Award 2021 winner Moshal Mental Health. A webinar took place on 14 0ctober with Maria Mumu, the founder of Moshal Mental Health and Dr Lisanul Hasan, Honorary Medical Officer, Department of Psychiatry at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
In continuation of the event, SCOPH BMSS organised a mental health workshop on 22 October which focused on mindfulness for medical students to enable them to cope with their life challenges and be better professionals with better patient management.
The trainer for the workshop was Dr Rahanul Islam, Resident Psychiatrist for Central Addiction Treatment Centre. Facilitators of the event were Nabila Jashim Nuha and Kazi Saminur Rahman, the mental health essentials trainers of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Association.
Alongside the trainers and facilitators, the president of BMSS was also present in the workshop. The workshop was held in Dhaka Medical College where 25 enthusiastic medical students participated.
