The authorities of the Islamic University (IU) have introduced the Vice-Chancellor Gold Medal for teachers at the university in Kushtia.
The decision was taken at the 114th academic council meeting held with IU Vice-chancellor Prof M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari in the chair, sources at the IU registrar office said on Thursday.
IU Pro-VC Prof M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Prof M Selim Toha, IU Proctor Prof M Mahbubar Rahman and IIER Director Prof M Maher Ali were present at the meeting on Thursday.
The jury board, according to the decision, of the university will select teachers for the medal, reports UNB.
The medal will be given from 2017-18 academic session to a teacher each from eight faculties for their outstanding performances in teaching, research and advising.
The IU vice-chancellor said that they introduced the medal to encourage the teachers of the university.
