An international seminar on 'Natural products for drug discovery and development' will be held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Wednesday.
IU Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering department will organise the seminar at Room-140 of the university's Applied Science and Technology building in the morning, sources at the department office said on Tuesday morning.
IU Vice-chancellor Prof M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari will speak at the seminar as the chief guest while Chemistry Professor Ibrahim Demirtas of Turkey's Cankiri Karatekin University will deliver the speech as the chief discussant, UNB reported.
IU Pro-VC Prof M Shahinoor Rahman, its Treasurer Prof M Selim Toha and Engineering and Technology faulty dean Prof Momtazul Islam will be present as the special guests.
