Alistair Legge PSM, senior governance adviser of International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), a US-based international organisation, called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman on the campus in the city on Tuesday.
During the meeting at the VC's office, they discussed various issues including development of different electoral systems.
The VC apprised the guests of a brief history of the University of Dhaka as well as its academic and research activities.
Senior programme officer of IFES Daniel Hollingsworth and Assistant Professor of DU Political Science Department Aynul Islam were present on this occasion.
Earlier, the IFES delegates delivered lectures in the two-day long workshop on "People Against Violence in Elections (PAVE)" at the Department of Political Science of DU. DU and IFES jointly organised the event.
Twenty-eight students from different departments of DU participated in the workshop, reports BSS.
