A day-long "Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship (ICE) Fair- 2021" was held on Thursday at the auditorium of Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) and the playground of Dhaka University (DU).
The aim of the fair was to bring together ideas, innovations, concepts, project proposals and existing ventures of the present and former students of the university that significantly contribute to the country's development journey.
The event was divided into three segments-showcase of ideas, initiatives, products, services etc, session on "I love problem solving" and ICE talks.
The DU students and alumni exhibited their innovative, creative and entrepreneurial spirit and initiatives by showcasing their ideas, products or services at the fair.
They also shared problems he/she cares to solve towards the country's development journey, and sensitize the issue with other fellow students. Innovators and entrepreneurs also shared their stories, journey, experience and challenges at 'ICE Talk'.
Md. Rashedur Rahman, executive director at ICE, highlighted the importance of innovation-driven entrepreneurship in Bangladesh for the country's development journey and focused on "4Ps"-person (training, incubation, mentorship, network), programme (advocacy and awareness program), policy and research (in-depth action research and policy facilitation) and platform (establishing interdisciplinary platform for different stakeholders including government, universities, industries, academia, students and others).
